1.6 tdi or greenline ?

Featured Replies

Hi guys!

I should choose between two engines on Fabia: 1.2 tdi greenline or 1.6 tdi 75 (or 90) hp. THe points are:

- consumption: the greenline has low consumption, but at which regimes since the maximum torque is at 2000 rpm? Shell I drive always "under torque"? (1.6 has the maximum torque at 1500 rpm and keeps it constant up to 2000/2500 rpm)

- engine ageing: can the 3 pots live as long (in terms of miles) as the 4 pots?

- for a most inter-urban use what is better?

Plese, share your ideas or experience.

one other thing to consider is the standard kit the greenline has, (aircon, esp+, cruise, etc) and compare the cost of the 1.6tdi with the same extras, also the £0 road tax, currently £0 congestion charge but they are apparently moving the goal posts for £0 to 70g/mile co2 from 100g/mile

test drive them and see which you like
