How many connectors are there for Octavia II seat, side airbag

Featured Replies

I have read through all of the posts on Octavia II seat airbag connectors, and am trying to establish how many connectors there are in the side airbag circuit.

My dealer has had two goes at rewiring the airbags and the light has come back on after a while. Last time they mentioned taking the seat apart to replace a connector. From that I can see, so far they have hard wired a connector under the seat, and one behind the plastic trim by the door hinge. As it is now a MOT fail, I need to sort, but last mention from the dealer was of a multi-hundred pound job.

I have ordered a Bluetooth ELM327 OBD-II adaptor (Branded Power2), and will also get Torque Pro to reset the fault.

If anyone has taken the seat apart and can advise I would be most grateful.

Right. Basically I too have had the same issue as you with both my drivers and passengers seats and both times this has been resolved by cutting out the connector UNDER the seat base and soldering the wires thereby doing away with the connector. The passenger seat was already repaired by a main dealer at some point before I bought the car but when I undid the electrical tape I found they had used crimp connectors instead of soldering the wires and this kept bringing up the airbag light intermittently so soldering the wires is the key. Take seat out and check repairs. Hope this helps
