Hi from Cornwall.

Hello to all on here,

I have just joined and thought i would say hi and introduce myself.

I currently drive a 52 plate Octavia TDi ( owned 9 years 130k and has been fantastic to say the least ) unfortunately it has just been deemed uneconomical to repair due to a 3rd party driving head on into it whilst the wife was sat in it stationary..

So we are now considering an upgrade to a 06-08 mk2 Octavia VRS TDi.

I work for a very large breakdown organization ( I drive a Yellow van! ) and have been in the motor trade since 87 VW Audi trained.

I look forward to spending some time reading the many topics on here.

Regards to one and all..

Martin

Welcome to Briskoda, Martin. With your background you should have more than a good idea of what to look out for in your new car! :)

I moved from a 2002 Octavia 1.8T 4x4 Estate which I owned for over 9 years to the Octavia Mk 2 in my signature. The latter model is a really nice car to own and drive.

Hi Denis, Thank you for the warm welcome.

I have been looking at various VAG group cars the last few days ...I keep going back and looking at Octavia`s, just love them !! :)

Hi fellow newbie!

Re: "So we are now considering an upgrade to a 06-08 mk2 Octavia VRS TDi."

Brookroyd Garage in Killinghall near Harrogate have a very nice Octavia Estate 2.0TDI VRS in their showroom right now! 2007(57) 64k miles in red. I only know 'cos that's where I've just bought my about to be delivered Yeti from! Independent specialists. Seem very good to deal with.

A long way from Cornwall I have to agree. But depends how much / how soon you want one? I went 220 miles each way to get the right BMW (my other car).

There are a few closer, but not many nice ones ....quite a lot in the Yorkshire area for some reason ?
