just might be in the pipeline

Hmm, I once read a review of a petrol Subaru Outback with a CVT box and found it interesting that if you tow something heavy the cvt box will naturally keep the engine revs quite high due to heavy load of car. So the poor driver was doing 90km/h on autobahn with engine screaming at 4500rpm constantly.

I have not experienced it myself, but it sure sounds horrible.

I think some CVT boxes were a bit pants but in some of them you can select 6 virtual gears manually so you could overide the auto box and lock it in a higher gear if you wanted. The 6 gears were just predetermined points of the variable shaft which i think was cone shaped.

.....i think was cone shaped.

You sure it wasn't pear shaped? :giggle:
