Got my rapid, 1.4TSI DSG7 Elegance, quick review and photos :)

I've been told Rapid 1.4 is with timing chain, whilst Golf 7 and Octavia 3 are on timing belt. Frankly I don't know right now which is better. Issues can go anywhere. The same discussion as for wet clutch vs dry clutch. Issues anywhere.

I personally think that DSG is better than EDC or Powershift. That's why I went for Rapid. Otherwise I could have taken a Ford Focus Powershift or a Renault Fluence Facelift 2013 EDC transmission.

The autocar review of the sporty new clio with their version of DSG did suggest that it was a tad slow. Was only one review though. Pity as the rest of the review was very positive. I would actually like to try VAG's 7sp DSG as ive only ever tried the wet cluch 6 speed. I love it though but ive heard that the dry clutch version isnt as smooth at slow speeds. Would this be a true reflection of things?

7sp DSG is the real feeling. You really should try it.

The wet clutch 6 speed is slower mainly because of the Diesel engine, not necessarily the transmission. (my opinion only) I think if they put the 7 sp DSG on Diesel will go as slow as now. It's like putting more memory on a computer which is slowed down by the processor.

I am thinking about getting a Rapid here in Israel. The price for the 2013 higher model is 122,000 nis. Are you still satisfied with the comfort, noise level, and acceleration of your rapid? You mentioned chip tuning, where can I get this done in Israel? Will it improve the fuel consumption?
