intercooler hose

Featured Replies

Hi all, not sure if i'm in the right place but ill give it a go! I'm constantly having problems with the bottom hose popping off the intercooler on my vrs. I have spoken to skoda and a new hose is rather pricey. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas of where i could find one. Nothing in breakers up this way so stuck at the moment!! Thanks in advance

You could get a second hand one, but will likely have the same issue as the clips are crap and wear, which is why they pop off.

If your seal is actually fine, and it's just the clips that have worn, you can fix it permanently for the cost of a few screws. Put 3 or 4 through the metal collar, it will never pop off again.

We had put one in but we'll put a few in like you say. Finding another is proving near impossible!! Thanks

Ive got one? Its in the for sale section. and standard and a silicone one.

**** design from skoda.

best thing to do is either buy some jubilee clips, self tapper them into place by having a few brave pills to drill into the rather expensive bungs or spend £££'s on a silicone kit from the likes of darkside or samco.

Have you tried a new clip? Sounds stupid but it could work.

I'm after a new bottom pipe too but the cost puts me off so I'm looking for alternatives as we speak.

this just happened to me this weekend, i only removed it friday to clean the intercooler, it popped off, :'( but it back on, drove to work sunday, fine then on way home decides to pop off every 100 metres total nightmare, i temp fixed it using 4 tie clips, 2 around the 90 degree bend and 2 back through the other ones, but it popped off again, the bits used to hold in the intercooler had rubbed away, so bite the bullet and bought one from TPS in swansea, £84.99 plus 2 clips 82 pence each plus vat, told that clips stretch, fixed it outside TPS job done, happy days.
