My Vrs wont start!

Featured Replies

Hi i'm new to the site and as only owning my 06 plate fabia Vrs from tuesday this week! Its been great up until saturday morning when i came to start it on my drive. Turned the key as normal it started for all of 2 seconds then cut out, then after that it's not started. it turns over as normal the battery is fine! All lights and everything work fine too, i even tried the spare key thinking its a imoboliser issue but still just turns over! I'm no mechanic but i have checked all hoses that i can possibly get to and see and no leaks on driveway. I'm thinking its some sort of fuelling problem? E.g fuel pump or filter? As being a new car it is under warranty but they can't do nothing till tuesday being a bank holiday! So i'd thought of asking you helpful lot. Thanks

most probably the immobilizer by the sound of that i suppose you could try disconnecting the battery it wont do any harm might reset its self.

make sure you have the radio code.

Thanks bill but already tried that! And still no joy.

Wiggle your car around whilst trying to start it.. Plastic switch in the end of the ignition barrel goes dodgy..

have you pulled a pipe off the fuel filter to check that fuel is coming through the filter to the engine ??

Thanks Holmesie yes tried that too and plenty of fuel coming thru. Thanks all of comments. Just a shame its bank holiday! Guess i'll just get the garage to come and sort it tomorrow? When i find out what it was? I'll let ya know

AA?

See if it runs off easy start for a couple of seconds, would help identify if its fuel.

Getting it scanned would also be a big help.

I guess the garage will sort it now so let us know how you get on :)
