Okay so till today i thought there were 2 speakers in the front door and a small twitter one in the rear door but while i was fetching something from the boot i realised sound coming near the windows. Am i wrong in thinking that there are 2 speakers in there aswell? It's a 2000 mk1 estate elegance. Also anyone knows what size speakers are there if they were in there originaly?

In the estate there are door speakers in the front, door tweeters in front and rear, and little 6X4" speakers in the side pods by the boot. The Saloon versions have a 5 1/4" speaker in the rear doors that we do not have.

It is difficult to get a (decent) upgrade that actually fits properly. My Rockford Fosgate's didn't, and needed a lot of messing about to get to fit properly, and even then, they still sound a bit crap.

The hatch is same as estate mate. Not sure on sizes but each door has a tweeter. Fronts have 1big speaker down low and big rear speakers in the side parcel shef holders.

+1

The tweeters are up in the front triangle plastic holder behind mirrors.

Sent from my Galaxy S3.

Apart from the 5 1/4" drive unit only in the hatchback rear doors, you mean...

Twitters :giggle:

No lol I mean same setup. The rear doors only have a tweeter in them.

Main speaker is in the plastic side parcel shelves

Not in the Estate's Lloyd... 6X4" chief. I had trouble getting my Rocky Fosgate 6X4" 's to seal, but not THAT much trouble. :D

In all honesty, it's a CRAP kinda size, no matter what speaker you go for. Not as lousy as the stupid little things you get in MX-5 (mkI) headrests though. Ugh!

Octy's twitters are the most rubbish speakers ever made.

I replaced them with some Merc CLK twitters, and they sound fantastic.Even the Astra's G twitters sound much better(I tried one of those too)

Edited by IulianE

They're not all that bad. Certainly better than a lot of piercing metal dome tweeters, or plastic horn loaded drivers out there.

They are.I removed them and replaced with others and sound improoved massive

Whats with these "twitters" they similar to "tweeters"? lol

Twitters will only play for 140 bars before they have to stop.
