A Positive thread

Featured Replies

9k in from new since Feb petrol vrs. No oil consumption ( and I mean zero so far) despite frequent WOT driving. No sawtoothing tyres, fuel economy is fantastic if you try, and not bad if you don't care. It's as bland as you can get, but Q car amusing, especially as it's a wagon. I've checked every week with an STS box for fault codes, and none so far, and bonus; the chain tensioner hasn't snapped yet!

Bravo!

Be off with you and your positive thread, dont you know this is where grown men come to whine and whinge about cars not praise them!!

On a serious note though i've had my vRs estate since last November and i also have not had to top up oil and I'm still over the moon with it, like you say the mpg is good for a 200bhp car, i average 31- 33 most weeks but it can drop to mid 20's when i press the loud pedal too much.

Black CR Vrs wagon new May 2012.

Just turned 25k miles.

No faults

Just about to change first set of tyres.

Q car which I like

It can cruise all day at 130 kmh (across France and Holland)

White Blackline CR DSG estate new Jan 2013. 3k so far and generally been as good as gold.

Had one parking sensor go funny after being washed by the dealer then being pounded with torrential rain all night but a bit of kitchen towel dabbing sorted it and touch wood hasnt happened since.

Car turned up at the dealers with some very minor tarnishing to the front grille, also a broken clip in the tailgate that wasnt removed at the PDI. Replacement grille that showed up was worse than what was on the car so didnt bother replacing in the end; the clip was removed very easily by the dealer.

Car has used no oil and is generally very relaxing to drive, handling v good indeed and brakes are great, huge improvement on the 288mm ones fitted on the Fabia vRS TSi. DSG is very good but i could kind of take it or leave it, only really went for it this time around as wanted a MFSW and the wife wanted an auto.

Performance wise v good, not fantastic off the mark (probably a damn sight better with the launch control but havent used it yet) but once rolling - particularly obce in 4th gear is probably a match for my old Fabia vRS. I've seen 52mpg out of it too on a mixed run which would never have been possible in a TSi.

All in all probably one of the best cars Ive owned, certianly where bang per buck is concerned.

After some initial "teething" problems with mine, I have to say that generally I'm really happy with it. Value for money it can't be beaten, it goes well, most people find them quite economical, comfortable, quite fast, practical and in blue looks amazing in the sunlight.

The last couple of cars have all been swapped after 7 months, I'm almost at that time period with mine and I have no intention of swapping for a few years!

Now running the third and fourth Octy's since 2007 and only had one warranty issue. If prices stay reasonable compared to alternatives I see no reason why the fifth might not happen!
