We currently have an octavia estate, and a grand scenic (7 seater).

The scenic is great to have as on the odd occasion we do use all 7 seats, however I think it is costing us too much money, so this weekend we started talking about getting a citigo.

The only thing I didn't realise is that it only has 4 seats. Does this cause people a problem??

Well, if you've only 4 people, then it won't be a problem.

It's not wide enough to be a 5 seater anyway, but I can't really comment further as there is only me to get into mine :(

Well I i can get 4 x 6 foot plus people in a Citigo you should ba able to get 2/3 babies and children in. However a push chair could be difficult. take one to the dealer and try it?

My children are not that young (6 & 9). The issue is only two belts in the back.

We have been trying to work out how many times we actually take 4 Children, and considering we will have the car for 3 - 3 1/2 years, this is a huge consideration.

The only way you can carry 4 kids is to let one of them drive but I understand the Police will take a dim view of it. There is no way to get around the fact that this is a 4 seat car. If you need more seats then your only options are to use another car on those days or buy another car altogether. Simples.

You should be able to manage fine with a 6 and 9 year old.

Provided you don't want to take any friends or much in the boot, because it's rather small.

It's more of an isue with younger children as the larger car seats for younger children can be big, plus they usually need more stuff to go with them in the boot.

Having said that though, it'll be cozy and I wouldn't particularly want to use it for longer journeys, but as a second car I think it would work well.

I have been trying for 2 years to get my wife to drive my car (yes I know the comments that are coming!!) but as it is an estate, AND dsg she has only ever driven it once.

her argument yesterday was 'well, the octavia is longer than the scenic' xxxxxxxx the scenic is 1mm longer!!! so, we are going for a test drive on Saturday, and i hope she likes it.

I had one as a courtesy car, and it was even good on the motorway.

There is plenty of space for two adults and two kids, or even four adults if the ones in the back don't want to stretch out much. However, if you have two kids there is no way you can take one of their friends with you as the car is only belted and approved for four people. Admittedly, this is a problem with many larger cars if the three kids all need child seats; not many cars can fit three child seats in a row. Unintended consequence: people buy massive 4x4s.
