Egr and wynns egr cleaner.

Featured Replies

I have some wynns egr cleaner and thought id have a go as a preventative measure, as I am on 122000 miles now and cannot get the egr off, due to the stupid bolt placement.

there are a few places to spray it depending on what you are cleaning. as far as I can tell, the air intake (which is where most seem to spray) is unlikely to clean the egr much, but I stand to be corrected. From my limited knowledge, into the air intake will not really reach the egr, will it?

there is a big rubber pipe going into the bottom of the egr, which I would guess is ideal to clean it (or as best as a spray can do!)

can I spray it in there without killing myself or the car?

At the bottom, with the metal spring clip. Can I pop off and spray in there?

Will let you know how it goes, but a lot of positive results on the net and as I do not have any (noticed) symptoms, it can't be bad as a preventative measure.

Sparying wont do a great deal!

You need to get it off and clean it with a toothbrush + carb cleaner!

The stuff is like tar! Sparying alone will not do a thing!

! sprayed mine twice, the egr cleaner didn't make any difference , i took it off last week ,it was covered in thick sticky black oily deposits .When you see whats inside you will know why the cleaner doesn't work well
