Aux on my satnav but no aux input anywhere!

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me why I don't have an aux socket anywhere even though I have the been satnav , it has the buttons for aux and phone but can't connect anything to it.

My car is an 06 plate occty vrs petrol

Have you tried in the cubby box between the seats?

Looked in both places and nothing, dealers were even stumped

06 plate didn't have the aux-in even with the Sat Nav and Jumbo Box options fitted. This is the same as mine.

Tried to get the lead from VW/Skoda to retrofit the Aux-In and it was discontinued for the MFD2 Sat Nav Unit last September :(

This may not work if he has a MFD2 Nexus Sat Nav unit as I have in my 2006 Octavia vRS...

Does that use the AUX input? If not, the pins can be transplanted from one connector to another. :) My Octy came with both the blue and green connectors in the quadlock, was a 5 min job to add in the pins for the bluetooth car kit.

There is a AUX input (button on the front of the unit) and if you press it there is a couple of options within there. However, most of the Aux add-in leads available on eBay and such like use the CD Changer in socket which means you loose the changer :(

I don't know what is on the rear of mine as yet.. something I am going to look at in the very near future as want to fit a bluetooth kit and try to get Aux In. The next issue is finding which pins they need to connect to!

Found out there was no connector fitted on the rear so have ordered it from eBay and was £10 delivered

The one I linked was not the changer replacer, just a lead to connect into the back of the H/U. The changer replacers are usually for MP3, not aux.

Most of the H/Us have pin-outs printed on top. Fitting a Nokia bluetooth was dead easy, I used 3 repair wires to connect it to the Phone Input pins, first on a Stream MP3, then a Bolero, and currently on a RCD310 :)

On the Stream MP3 there is 3 spare connectors used for Aux In. Left,Right & Earth. I had a lead with no plug on so just plugged the 3 pins into the relavant spaces in the Blue plug. All works ok and you don't lose your CD Changer :)

This is the pin layout:

Does anyone have one of the above diagram for a MFD2 Nexus Sat Nav Unit to see if this is possible on mine?

Would I have to code the aux via vcds ? Got my lead today, connected it all and nothing's working

You don,t need vcds to do this. You go into the stereo menu and switch Aux on.

Tried that, had no joy but it may w the cable I'm using as its quite old

Right replaced the cable with a new 1 and still nothing, switched aux on on the satnav but nope it's not playing ball. Is it worth seeing of it needs coding in ?
