Hey all,

I bought my first car a couple of weeks ago - a 2004 1.2 Fabia Classic.

All was fine until yesterday when my EPC light came on. I checked it using VCDS Lite and it came up with fault code 16785 - EGR System - Insufficient flow detected.

This being my first car, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing under the bonnet. Is this something I should try to fix myself, or am I better off taking it to a garage?

You should get a garage to replace the EGR valve and re-adapt it. Since the valve is nine years old there is no point trying to fix it.
