Judging by all the posts here, it seems to be ok then! I suppose its just something to get used to - and as long as it doesn't do any long term damage to the car I guess its fine. Quite funny to leave other cars literally 'smoked!'

The other option is to use a bit of NOS for those warm days...will cure the soot right up...
