AP Racing 4 pot 312s

Featured Replies

Have just read a mini review of the face lifted Ibiza Cupra in Evo magazine and for an extra £1000 you can spec a set of AP Racing 4 pot calipers to clamp 312mm discs.

Assume the kit would bolt straight on a VRS?

Although probably a bit steep to be in with a real chance of being purchased...

Yeah, I'm assuming its the same AP 4 pot 312mm brakes fitted to previous Ibiza Cupras, both diesel and petrol.

Few and far between when I was looking, plus wider than brembos.

If I was paying £1000 I'd expect the brakes to come supplied behind four wheels, and attached to a complete car ready to be trackday'd ;)

Seen more rocking horse poop than these. ;)

Lol had a set last year for £250, they're a pain, ally casing with steel pins so everything seizes up nicely...

I punted for the 323 brembos in the end. £500 fit under more wheels (just) and look a bit bigger too.

That's why you buy them brand new from a Seat dealer I guess....

I bought a few sets for SCN members and fitted them to MK5 Ibizas. The cost price I could get them for was a steal, came with pads in them etc. Went to order the next set, the cost price had trippled...lol

Look for 323mm Brembos instead. The APs aren't much better than my 312's with Brembo pads on the wifes car. Under track use i'd say they'd spank mine,,, but day to day... naaaa.

When you have to change pads on them... you'll wish you hadnt bothered.

4.5 hours on one side with various punches and hammers to get the ******* pins out without heating them, or breaking the pins. Zinc + Alu must use lithium grease and not copper to lube it or it sort of cold welds itself together.

Worst thing is i'm going to have to do them again before the year is out :'(
