hi

i was wondering if i can unlock my DVD screen (unlock blank screen whilst in motion) with full VDCS ?

Also i have seen a DVD software disc on the tinternet (u tube etc) that you put in the cd player and it uploads new firmware but it says VW on the setup screens etc so i dare not use this just in case it turns my Skoda screen to VW screen.

Im not interested in slightest about the legality of it as im quite aware of the reg's.I just like to keep my annoying young passenger entertained so i can concentrate fully on the road. :giggle:

I think you have to add a module to it?

Google OEM retrofits and they have info on they're website

On YouTube if you search for it there is trick for enabling but believe you have to do it each time you wanna view video on the move?

No you can't.

You can with a DVD 'hack' or by finding someone with the very expensive hardware/software combo that can.

The VW DVD won't put a VW logo on your Skoda Columbus (at least none of the VW firmware discs I've used have). The reason that firmware is quoted as 402x is that the four versions (4020 / 4024 / 4026 / 4028) represent, probably not in this order, VW / Skoda / Audi / Seat. One disc - four brands. Saves money. no reason why the DVD hack would be any different (but I haven't done it and don't know where you are getting the software from).

The reason for mentioning this is that I seem to recall any of the 'beta' firmware upgrades will enable DVD in motion / VIM anyway. At least mine did when I upgraded to 38xx (then I had a DVD hack to stop VIM) and then again when I went to 402x (that reminds me, I must run the hack again to turn it off - it's illegal to use it :giggle: )
