Rear Window Regulator

Featured Replies

Booked my car in for them to diagnose a fault with one of the rear electric windows.

Was told it would be £75 for them to remove the door card and find out what was wrong.

Popped in later and they said that it might be the regulator (£198) or a couple of rubber grommits (£10), but they won't know for sure until they strip the door completely.

So today's effort, the £75 and the £10 of fuel for the courtesy car was a waste then!

If the reguator is a common problem why didn't they pre-order the part when I booked it in and fully strip the door today!?

They've now had to fix the door back up and will then have to take it all apart again next week when I have to take it back in.

Serves me right for thinking that by using a Skoda dealer I'd be more likely to have them do a proper job.

I'm half tempted to get them to strip the door down again for them to properly 'diagnose' the fault and then tell them I don't want them to do the repair so that they have to put everything back together again.

Grrr.
