Help! Leaking rear passenger door

Featured Replies

I've had my 56 plate octavia vrs estate for a few weeks now.

Noticed after the first wash that I've got water coming in from the rear passenger side door at the top.

Looks like its coming in through the little seal strip that runs along the top of the door.

Any suggestions on how to sort this? Would a new rubber seal be the only option? I guess that's a full door seal all the way around the door?

This pic below looks a bit worse than it is because I opened the door when it was wet but nevertheless that's where the water is seeping through

Does the door striker plate need adjusting slightly to pull the door tighter onto thr rubber?

Thanks! not sure ... i Just had to google striker plate - I was unaware it could be adjusted and may solve the problem!

Have you / anybody else done this? Is it worth a shot ?

Any tips on how to go about it.... I don't want to make the problem worse!

Striker can be adjusted to pull door in more.Undo the 2 screws slightly and push in a few mm then retighten.Might cure your leak otherwise a new seal will be required.

I'll give the striker a go tonight then. Thanks for the replies

Mine also did this. Like said a small adjustment inward will eliminate this.
