Overcoming couplers on the Intercooler

Featured Replies

We all know the issues of couplers on the boost piping system (leaks and pipes blowing off)!

Now I'm just wondering if people would think it could be possible to overcome the couplers on the intercooler by fitting a wider silicone pipe AROUND the intercooler fitting rather than INTO it using a coupler then of course using a hose clip around it.

Would this work? Do you think the plastic intercooler is strong enough to take the force around it or could it be cracked?

Will the clip holes leak? (presumably you could bring the pipe up to the very edge of the intercooler so it wouldnt)

The ribbed plastic should hold the hose on nicely!

Nope wouldn't work I don't think, you'd be blowing it off quite often I think. use forge ally connectors and silicone pipes to replace!
