Hi All,

I have an issue which involves my auxiliary water pump. It is making a whining noise (like a drying out idler ). It varies in volume but is there a majority of the time.

My dealer (Parkview in Reading) diagnosed the fault and I will monitor the noise short term as it is not felt to be terminal at this stage.

£130 plus fitting was a bit of a shock on a 23k car. Some mention on VW forums of this snag and my dealer said they have replaced a couple already.

Has anyone else suffered from this issue? How was it resolved?

Is your car still under warranty? a few people on here have had their water pump replaced on the tsi engine.

Unfortunately not,although I will take this up with Skoda UK as the car has very few miles on it.

Did you manage to get the waterpump problem sorted? my Vrs is making the same noise and wsa wondering if changing the pump made a difference
