Featured Replies

Hi all first time ive posted in this section,

Just decided i kind of want to get into making the car look shiny lol. I've hit the search bar but its kind of diffiicult to use when i dont really know what im looking for.

For people who know what there talking about detailing wise heres the situation im in

Red fabia vrs

Paintworks fine give or take a few stone chips as you would imagine im sure.

I work at a dealer so places to wash the car is fine.

Im wanting to clay and polish and maybe wax?

never used a buffer but theres plenty at work and plenty of people to show me the way so to speak

Ive used lifeshine/autoglym all the time at work when polishing the car and its always come out nice but now i want to buy my own gear.

Ive heard Megs is good but those are the only ones i know.

I had a look on google and found a site that i dont actually remember the name of though!

Any suggestions for sites that are trusted and at good prices and what im best off getting. Thanks in advance.

Sam

www.detailingworld.com is a good site for all things anal retentive car cleaning!! some of it is mindblowing to be honest! There are loads of links to specialists for all the cleaning goodies for your pride and joy.

www.ultimatefinish.co.uk is very good.

Some of my usual.

Multi brand sites.

http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/

http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/

http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/

Single brand sites.

http://www.bilthamber.com/

http://www.kleers.com/index.php

http://www.nanotechsst.co.uk/car-permanon-products-c-1_60.html

http://www.carpro.uk.com/

http://gtechniq.com/main-page/

Personally. I'm a big fan of Bilt Hamber and CarPro for tar and iron removal, Autobrite for snow foam and there Jaffa Clean for degreasing, cleaning and dressing door shuts, and Gtechniq for polishes and sealants and everything else. But it's a matter of trying a few things out and seeing whats best for yourself, it's a maze out there.

I use clean your car to purchase online

Whoa lots of sites there! Keep me busy for a while, thanks for all of your suggestions everyone!

I think I've a list of 21 different websites, but 14 of them have a short cut on my computer. If you want to try a few things without buying a large bottle and finding you don't like it try

http://www.waxybox.co.uk/ and starting at £15 for one month, £50 for three months or £95 for six months. They are random samples but a good way to give products a try.

Hmm the waxyboy could be of interest to me because its like a open field with all these websites, all really good in their own way but in all honesty, apart from as mentioned with the autoglym i haven't got the slightest clue where to look apart from the price haha. So to speak im a complete newbie to detailing although i do regularly wash and polish my car.

I had a look on waxyboy and it says you always get cleaning accesories with it no matter what and a constant supply of X Y and Z, plus other things. does anybody on here use this site by any chance?

I'm in the same position, don't have much experience with detailing etc. I bought the waxybox taster box and it's got some good products in it.

I think I'm going to get the box this month too, is a good way to try new and different products out :)

Prefer to use Ron at at Motorgeek.
