So fixed the Squeaky/Creaky FARB Bushe but....... is it now knocking?

Featured Replies

As title i fixed the squeak/creak by fitting superpro FARB bushes but now i seem to have a knocking sort of noise that knocks at the same points that teh bushes used to squeak.

Its kind of a knock/clunk/boink if that makes any sense?

I fitted Weitec coilovers at the same time as the bushes and so was expecting a few other knocks bumps and noises, but this sounds like it could be solvable!

Anyone get what i mean and had same problem and possible solutions?

Im gonna get it checked out later anyway as there is something going on with drivers side brakes as it sounds like ive got a stone stuck in between the pad and disc!!!!

Dont think they are to be honest.

To add its had new:

  • Complete wishbones with all bushes
  • steering arms with steering rack ends and track rod ends
  • drop links
  • Superpro 17mm bushes and new clamps on a arb with sleeves smashed off
  • top mounts when coilovers fitted
  • new bumpstops on the coilovers when fitted

It may just be part and parcel of having coilovers fitted but i just want to rule out everything.

Garage will do a full test of everything on the wobble plates in MOT bay for £25, so may get that done to rule anything out!

But it did have a fresh MOT a month ago after the above were fitted, except ARB Bushes and coilovers where fitted after MOT.

Ball joints?

Make sure everything is tight. I did similar work to mine then got a knocking and it was a track rod end that wasn't tight enough.

Did you change bottom ball joints with those new wishbones?

Gonna have to check with the garage or have a look at the weekend if bottom ball joints were done. Believe everything that could be changed basically is now!

Did have a look before for anything loose and found nothing, but will double check.

Perhaps you might want to have a good look at rad mounts and smic mounts too. Intercooler mounts are prone to breaking.
