octavia wheel alignment

Featured Replies

Had the 1st service carried out on my Octavia last week. Only issue was, they noticed the rear wheels had slight feathering on them and currently the car has only done 6k. Can anyone recommend where I can get the wheels aligned in the south Wales area as I'm driving over to northern Ireland next month,so I like to rectify before I put anymore substantial mileage on it. My car is a 2012 Vrs tsi. Thanks

or just google local tyre places who have something like a hunter alignment rig.

Discount tyres in Cwmbran have a hunter (I believe) rig if you are anywhere near there. I used them and they didn't charge me when they found my alignment was ok all round. You need to make an appointment with them in advance.

If you're heading into England-shire then Hereford Tyres have a Hunter rig and very good customer service.

May be a bit far out of 'South Wales' though.

I live in Hereford but have not used Hereford Tyres so I don't know how good they are.

However I travel to London from time to time and I have used Wheels-in-Motion in Chesham who have a very good reputation among the owners of Mazda MX-5s, a car with fully-adjustable suspension and which can be transformed by having the alignment set properly by someone who knows that they are doing.

The proprietor, Tony Bones, is very helpful and is often willing to advise people of possible good specialist alignment workshops in other parts of the country if they live a long way from Chesham.

Hi Preston334

Where in South Wales are you? Autostop in Porth, Rhondda (http://www.autostopwales.co.uk/) has a Hunter system. Had my Octy done last November. Phoned them and told "Just turn up".

Initial check was done free then charge depends on what needs to be done - mine was £68.

I think they also have a place in Bridgend

Thanks for the replies. I live in pontypool so cwmbran is the ideal one but currently working 6 day weeks. I'm working up Pontypridd way next week so I take the car up to porth one day and get it checked out.

If I could have get a day off I would have gone to Hereford, get the tyres sorted and stop off at Wye valley brewery to stock up on ale. :-)

Will keep you all updated. Thanks again for the replies.

If you head to Wye Valley Brewery let me know as I live about 500m along the road from it and our friends own the pub next door to it!

And I have VCDS if you need anything doing.
