should I take this higher?

Featured Replies

Right

I got a renewal from Sky insurance at a good price but thought Ide shop around none the less.

Ide been with AF before and they gave me a good quote so went with them, everything declared Mods, Claims Points ect over the phone (MALE operator)

He did a check there and then to make sure it was all legit with claims.

all fine,

at the time ANOTHER really happy customer!

I know I had to return info to them for NCB and mods so I returned them as soon as I could.

Thought all was fine and nothing more would come of it.

gets an email then asking for info on a claim and a copy of my licence???????

couldn't understand why they didn't ask in the first place when nothing should of changed, I told the fella on the phone that I had one claim in 09 where a woman hit into me and nothing came of it so info only then another in dec 11 where I hit someone and it was MY FAULT! but other than telling insurance companies that was all I know, nothing more came of it. BUT IT WAS MY FAULT!

all of a sudden they are emailing asking for £120 because mods are not the same. (they were told it was modded and the mods there over the phone)

this they took after one email and 7 days. to be fair I should of paid more attention to emails, I thought all was fine tbh and was snowed under with work and driving up n down the country on my days off. so I would of let this slide.

I sent off the driving licence and said in the email I had no further info on the claim.

Got an email back saying they still need the info and they wanted another £110. WELL that made me sit up and go through everything again.

Turns out on their records my policy was sorted by a woman, BUT I spoke to a male who checked some system while still on the call that claims were correct. They are now looking into it.

I have been told if I cancel AF take a big cut out of it and I get around half back for a month or so cover?

I do want this sorting but it would of been easier and better staying with sky who had all the info ne way and were only a tad more for the year, this is turning out to be over £200 more now.

really I want all my money back as I would never of gone with AF in the first place as it sounds like it would of been a bigger premium if all info was put in correctly at the time of the call?

Should I take this to the government agency who help in these things?

****ED OFF are not the words but for sure Ill never use AF again.

I feel and apologise to the young lass on the phone though as its not her fault. she is just trying to sort out other peoples **** ups!

The Ombudsman will always ask you to contact your provider in the first instance and follow the statutory complaints procedure. It's only once this has been exhausted that the Ombudsman will be willing to get involved. Chat to AF and see what they can do to resolve your issue.

Cheers.

I have they said they will half the ammount.

I have ordered the recording of tge call to go through it.

They put it as a no fault claim coz I said nothong came of it but before saying that I said it was my fault????

Where there is it not my fault? Just because nothing came of it doesnt mean it wasnt my fault. I clearly stated it was my fault!

Also want to go through the mods coz I am sure I told the fella on the phone the mods I had. Only one he put on the system was brakes.

I am sure I am right so ill be fighting this.

Not impressed at all with them.

Have they sent you the recording yet? And have they reviewed it yet?

After I read this I went through all my details about 4 times incase they missed something lol

I remember using them for 2 or 3 policies and gave me the best price by far at the time. Sending in proof of no claims, they were the first company who needed this from me. I assumed it would just be if you cant prove it in the event of a claim they would walk and rightly so. For driving licence the accepted me taking a picture of it on my phone and emailing it as I didn't have a scanner or photocopier handy. I dare say if I go near them again I will be very careful on triple checking all details!
