Hit "Limp Mode" Last night

EPS or ESP? Because EPS is Electric Power steering, and ESP is Electronic Stability Program.

And yes, N/A cars don't have 'limp' mode since there is no turbo working it up:D

Hmm...pretty sure they do have limp mode, just the change in performance isn't as drastic...

Rob.

You mean the power drops by like 50bhp right? Moves like a trailer truck?

And its still more powerful than the 2.0l

I'm guessing most modern car would have some sort of "limp mode" to stop you killing your engine

And its still more powerful than the 2.0l

Which is more powerful?

And the EPC light is Electronic Program Control I believe. Goes on when there's a malfunction somewhere in the system, fault can only be found by a dealer. However, in such cases these cars will run on Emergency Mode.

Mr. Tom, the thing is, I don't need a turbo to have 115bhp...YOU DO

c'mon boys what difference does size make when it's limp!

Sorry it's been a boring day at work

Put it one way I used to drive a Panda and that would of had the legs on the Furby! It is shockingly slow I started going up a hill and it slowed down! I had to drop 2 gears to get it to the top! God I hate it when you have to put effort into driving

How many horsepower is your car?

And it don't matter. I don't have to ever worry about having the turbo fail. I'm happy with my 8.5 second 0-60 time, and my handling is absolutely superb and would outwork yours since I've dropped my car real low and am using 15" rims on ST115 low profile tyres, making it even lower :P

Is that not a "limp mode"? your 2.0l will have it, and when it comes on it will drink your petrol like a fish. (or like the Ibiza I was driving, just turn off your acceleration, brakes and steering, go Seat!)

It depends on the fault. With major faults, I've been told the car won't switch on and will go into 'safety' mode.

So your car does have limp mode! :D

Yeah, I think this is what the Ibiza did, but it didn't realise I was actually driving through town in rush hour at the time.

Still I'd consider that a "Limp Mode". So I'd agree that petrol Fabias have one. Maybe not as drastic as losing a turbo, but still there.

It's 'SAFETY' mode...it shuts off...;)

It's 'SAFETY' mode...it shuts off...;)

Same thing!!!!!! :P

It's 'SAFETY' mode...it shuts off...;)

My Girlfriends fabia had the EPC light come on, it drank 10 quid of petrol in around 10 miles and was sluggish as hell. It didn't shut off. Dealers plugged it in and reset some fuelling thing and it was fine.

Thats Limp mode!

How many horsepower is your car?

about 240 - 245 bhp and about 265 lbft

about 240 - 245 bhp and about 265 lbft

And in limp mode...? :D

Rob.

about 240 - 245 bhp and about 265 lbft

Are you running KW's as well so it can keep up with any "slammed" Fabias in the twisties too? ;)

Chris

And in limp mode...? :D

Rob.

absolutely feck all, found this out a few months ago

struggled to get 40mph

Chris

yep, KW varient 2 :)

i want to fit uprated arb's, strut braces and poly bushes in the future so i can keep up with a fabia :)

Isn't EPC Electronic Power cConservation, where the electrics go on holiday until battery charge has been sufficiently replaced?

Bengie - 3xtorque?

Edit: Talking petrol 2.0. Ignore the torque thing.

Bengie - 3xtorque?

:o

meant to be 2x

sorry about the typo there :)

about 240 - 245 bhp and about 265 lbft

You would have had to do some serious modding to get those figures. Standard parts won't be able to handle that kind of power, you'd have had to change cams, possible throttle bodies, extreme remapping and modified internal parts in general. You cannot gain over 100BHP from a simple remap and exhaust change.

I think you should get your car dyno'd somewhere else, that figure sounds way too high.

And also, with that kinf of BHP gain, how did you not get over 300lbft of torque?

With that kind of power and with the sheer size and weight, you'd be able to do the quarter mile in less than 15 seconds, making it an extremely fast Fabia.

Did you do some serious modding to your car?
