Vrs le tsi jerking on bite when setting off

Featured Replies

Just after a bit of advice

Car has 56k on it and recently had clutch changed due to a noisy release bearing, but not fly wheel. The jerking issue was apparent before the clutch change and hasn't got any better or worst since.

The issue I am having seems worst when the car is warm and especially bad in traffic, the car a jerk and surge forwards and getting a smooth start can be very hit and miss. A few times it has also idled at 1200rpm in traffic.

After reading on here I thought it might be the pcv valve, another site suggested trying to blow down it to see if it was knackered. Anyways I couldn't.

It's booked in garage next Thursday but was just wondering I'd anyone could help or has experienced this before.

If its a 1.8 TSI then It is a characteristic of the engine set up, mine used to do it every so often, say one in ten.., but it does annoy you lol

I used to rev it a bit harder but got fed up ... a post by a fella called Brad 1.8T in this forum explains it very well

A Remap cured it completely and increased the performance from 160 to over 200hp

The car is incredible to drive...ultimate Q car

hope this helps

its the 2.0 tsi in the VRS, they might share the same clutch

it does seem very snatch and grab. I do have to rev it to 2000rpm or so when setting off and slip the clutch in otherwise it can be very jerky when setting off.

my octy 2 2006 tfsi does something similar to what you are describing! im yet to iron out the jerkyness all together but i have just replaced the pcv on the front of the engine as the old standard ones break up internally this seemed to smooth it out somewhat!

thought I would post my findings.

This has been one of those faults I've been living with for around a year. I tried replacing the PCV valve but it made no difference. In the end I got a copy of VCDS and fault scanned.

It came up with this error

008213 - Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor (Bank 1)
               P2015 - 000 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent

The garage I used diagnosed the issue and in the end i replaced two parts

07L 907 386

037 906 283 C

car now runs spot on. Just thought I would share as I know the idle and jerking (cant help laugh when I write this word) issue seems common

Doesn't jerk when setting off.

Idles perfect too.
