How long have I got?

Featured Replies

On my way back to work and I had a 'warning' on my mileage counter display that has a picture of a spanner, and "oil" flashing. I topped up last week, so level is correct.

I planned to get it serviced this month anyway, but I'm on holiday in the UK so driving tomorrow...

How long realistically do I have to get the oil changed and the light reset?

It's just for information. It's just saying that it's due a service based on time/mileage elapsed since it was last reset.

When was it last done? Quite often if the light isn't on when being serviced, it doesn't get reset so can come up between services.

It was serviced end of July last year... Only done about 10 or 11k... I know it's due soon, just didn't know the warning came up!

Get it serviced when you next can! Wont blow up or anything just nice to keep service intervals to 10k for resale and engine longevity

As above, dont worry too much if its a little over. Also worth checking your oil every week!
