Octavia Mark 1 - 1.9 TDI 130 BHP Tyre Size

Featured Replies

Just a bit confused as to the correct tyre size for my car.

Have fitted 205 55 16 but when checking via Michelin web site it says that the tyre size is 195 65 15 for same model car.

The car has alloy rims

Cheers

205 55 16 is correct for 16 inch wheels.

The 195 65 15 is for 15 inch wheels.

Some models may have had 15s fitted.

Most or all Octy Elegance and L&K came with 6.5x16 alloys as standard and ran 205/55R16s. Some late Ambiantes had the TDi130, and may have retained the 15" steel rims and 195/65R15s from the usual spec for that trim.

Look inside the fuel cover - mine mentions 205/55R16 (as has been said, on 6.5J, mine are alloys), 205/60R15 (on 6.5J) and 195/65R15 (on 6J, which I also have in steel with winter rubber fitted, this being the only size for which snow chains are permitted according to the official Skoda guide for wheels and tyres).

Did they?

I thought only the Ambiente SE had the PD130 and that came with 16" wheels that looked not unlike the VRS Spiders.

well mine is a octy elegance PD130 august 2004 and its 16 alloys with the 205.55.r16 just to clarify as original.
