I saw this and just had to snap it up. It is the 835050 kit so I am really hoping it will fit. I am pretty sure AUY and ASZ flywheels are the same. Any thoughts guys?.

Are you sure? I have been looking for over six months now. Euro car parts lists the kit for 400 odd quid. Please show me where you have seen this kit for 90 quid time and time again lol.

Wow opinions on this kit vary so widely. Way i see it is nothing could be louder than my knackered dmf.

What are you running a lightened smf?.

Loba lightweight flywheel - 6.8kg, well i guess that would explain that.

Haha yeah lol, it's quite bad, but easy to live with, so in all honesty that kit you got cant be too loud (some people are more sensitive to it than others) and was a billy bargain

I got my valeo off eBay for £150. Was apparently off a stage2 fabia which did 500miles and it slipped so he took it off. It did look very good condition and near new.

The positives are, it starts and turns off much more quietly instead of harshly like my DMF that was on 88k. Drives nicely, the bite it nice and strong.

But the downside it that when I let off around 1200-1500rpm approx it makes a grindin/chattery noise. Almost like gearbox bearings (comparing to my friends polo that needed a new box). It doesn't sound too nice, more tractor like and is just embarrassing really haha. Don't know if its just me being paranoid, but I really do hope it isn't the thrust bearings :( although it never made the noise before I changed to this valeo kit.

Don't worry about that eric, mine does too, it's because the DMF isn't damping the vibrations.

I just turn the radio up or drive at higher revs lol.

Thanks for the feedback guys. It will be nice to have clutch bite again as currently my original 60 thousand mile clutch is slipping bad. I simply could not afford a new dmf and clutch and did not want to get another dmf only to kill it in twenty thousand miles. I can live with extra noise knowing the power is going through the weels and not being lost in the transmission. Did any of you guys notice a change in mpg after fitting a smf kit ? as my mpg has been getting worse as the original clutch wears out.

One I actually done myself on a 2007 ford focus, he wanted a smf so we fitted one, couple of month later a chattering noise started. I assumed the new slave cylinder had failed so changed under warranty... Only after my wrong diagnosis and hassle of changing the salve cylinder did we learn the flywheel had killed the gearbox making it rattle.

Was the clutch sprung on the SMF conversion?

My mpg is about the same as when I had my DMF. Just the chattery noise.

This kit should really be no nosier than the standard dmf. Maybe stage 2 power damaged yours, I hope not. Did you replace the concentric slave cylinder too?.

I hope not too ha. yeah bought brand new LUK concentric slave from carpartsforless.
