Fabia rear wiper motor - same for hatch as estate?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is the rear wiper motor (6Y9955711A) the same for the estate as for the hatch?

thanks

Martin

No... not quite.

Motor for hatch has tube for washers

Estate doesn't - washers are located above the hatch.

What model are you looking for?

The washer motor on my wife's Fabia (hatch) has the usual tube corrosion. I saw that Bickerton Skoda were offering estate wiper motors at clearance rate & wondered if they were the same.

link for repair kit below but price for that is over £50 !!!!! might as well just buy a new motor.

There is a repair kit P/N on another thread on this page - from memory it should only cost roughly £30 - as usual, as I have found in the past, buying from ebay can cost a lot more than from dealers!

Remember, there might have been a couple or so models of wiper assemblies used, so maybe read the p/n of your one before ordering a kit - the generic form of the kit p/n remains the same, but it "follows" the actual wiper p/n - if that makes sense!

Other thread title is "Rear washer jet issues - help" - or something like that.

I got the complete motor/wiper replacement unit of ebay for £30. Saves a hell of a lot of time fixing it as you just unbolt the old one & bolt in the replacement. The 'repair kit' can be fiddly.

Was that price for an OEM new one or a used one or a third party one? If new OEM then great, if used - just how long will it last before it needs a repair kit.
