Creating Personal POI DB

Just been trawling the net and found that the Columbus is the same unit as the VW Discover Pro

The manuals and Skoda do not have any information on how to import your own POI's, but I found this link that describes the process, some is translated but some is German.

Basically you have to use the VW Nav Companion tool that is only on the German VW site at present, well I couldn't find it on the UK site.

Look at the following link

http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=92453

And follow the instructions.

It will create a ZIP file that needs to be extracted to an external medium

No need to convert language codes to your local language, it just loads straight in

Managed to get personal POI's imported and showing on the maps

POInspector doesn't work with the new Columbus, so until there is an update to that or some other software, then Nav Companion seems the only choice.

I put a request in to NavTeq to see if they offer anything and will post if I get a response.

This will also work for the Amundsen

My new Octy is fitted with an Amundsen and I would like to have speed cam locations. Did NavTeq ever get back to you.
