Will you be trading the Mondeo for a V6 Renault Vel Satis Chris? I hear the engine is very good in those.

What Car also rate Ford's and Renaults very highly when tested. Enough said really.:thumbup:

Never thought i'd say it but ... that's because they make some decent handling cars without beng stupidly expensive . The Mondeo and Focus are good cars period - almost every magazine / tester has rated them well on handling & package even if they aren't absolutely top of the tree. As far as I can see the reason that people don't buy them is:

Fords - image & number of them on the road. Otherwise they are good cars that should be considered if you are looking at buying on a purely practical basis. I rejected the Modeo against my Octy purely on the basis that the Octy was cheaper (for the performance I wanted) and a had a bigger boot;

Renault - makes some crap cars but the clio hot versions are very good cars for the price ... fast and handle well :thumbup: They have an image problem with ***** in Clios but also a reliability reputation problem - not sure how valid this is as my brother has had two clios (16v and 182) with no reliability issues at all :confused:

All IMHO but I can't see how you can decry what What Car says on some cars ... because they are right in many cases. :)

Unless you're a **** then why does it matter who else drives them? :confused:

WRT how many Fabia vRS I see, more now but only 1 or 2 a week (500 miles a week). Annoyingly I'm ALWAYS in a car other than my Furby when I see them so a wave would be a waste of time!

See loads of non-vrs furbies though.

Hello, in north of france, the VTS 1.6 16s is THE car for fun on sinuous road.

The saxo have à little weight and she's stuck on the road (like a carting).

So, for me the fabia is not the new saxo VTS and the c2 is not the new saxo :D

Finally, the fabia vrs is less popular than a saxo (in france, belgium etc) but for me, I prefer the Fabia VRS ;).

There is no way a Furby can be the "NEW SAXO!!"

I agree that the Fabia is not the new Saxo for many of the reasons been brought up already.

nice try tho ;)

Well, I said in a previous thread that the Fabia was heading in that direction. It won't become THE maxxers car, as it's got a Skoda badge, and no matter how many Gareth-from-the-Office voice-overed adverts Skoda make, it will never, ever be cool.

It's a shame people seem to 'downgrade' to a Fabia vRS, from the likes of the Clio Cup, or better, because of the 'remapped and lowered' promises, and duely get disappointed because no matter what you do to it; it's got a heavy engine in a small chassis, and will never offer what the Cup offers. Negavtive opinions follow, which the vRS does not deserve, as, imo, it doesn't pretend to be something like the Clio Cup. It's not marketed and sold in that manor [least, that's my experience].

If I had the dosh, I'd make a Max Power cover car of the Fabia, just because.
