Taking out rear seats.

Featured Replies

My son has a 5 door Citigo and might be having to lug around a couple of dogs this summer.

I was wondering if removing the rear seats was a viable option?

He rarely ever carries any rear seat passengers ,so they wouldn't have to be refitted and removed on a frequent basis.

I think you might have issues with how to keep the dogs in the back, if there were to be a need to stop quickly what would keep the dogs and your son safe?

How big is the boot if you just fold the seat down and then fit a dog guard?

Not a five minute job but if needed. Fold down the rear seat back. There are cams on each end of the rear seat upright pivot points. just slide the cam cover to reveal the pivot bar. at the centre pivot mount there is a cover over the front of the pivot bar. pull the cover forward then remove the bolt at the back and lift off the cover in the centre. You can now lift out the seat back. The seat base is held in by two clips underneath.

Thanks for that.

The plan would be to have 1 large or 2 small dog crates.

The dogs wouldn't be loose in the back.

Crates, good idea, keep the offspring safe as well as the canines

How big are the dogs?

Small springer and possibly a young border collie.
