Good morning,

I need to delete speed cameras from my Columbus for an upcoming trip to Spain.I can get as far as "speed cameras"in the P.O.I,but I can not find a delete option.

I am sure I am being incredibly dense-how hard can it be?Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I don't think you have to delete them. Hiding them should be enough.

I'm guessing that the issue is when you're driving through France rather than when you're in Spain? Decree No. 2012-3 is the law introduced. Apparently it's illegal to possess, transport or use a device capable of warning about the location of speed cameras. So hiding them might not be enough, as the device would remain capable of displaying them?

By way of comparison, TomTom meet with the Road Safety Ministry and as a result they issued a free update to remove any record of the speed camera location functionality in France and replaced them with Danger Zones (Zones de Vigilance Accrue) provided by the French government.

I'm sure you'll get lots of opinions on what to do. Just remember that what you read on the internet is worth exactly what you've paid for it, so I'll probably put a call into Skoda CS before I go in the summer, as like TomTom you would think that this has come up before. Though I seem to remember reading that the official maps don't have any speed cameras for any country as standard, so they might not have a clue.
