Phone Problem or Car?

Featured Replies

For a couple of years, I connected my Nokia phone with my Superb II with no problems. I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 and it connected OK, Other than not receiving texts, it seemed to work OK too.

I noticed on a long drive through a good signal area that the signal was poor, often dropping to zero, but occasionally good. The phone disconnected after a while and wouldn't re-connect until it was rebooted, at which point it went into low/no signal behaviour again. Even at no signal, the car was reporting it was connected to the phone.

Can anyone tell me if this sounds like a compatibility issue (i.e a poor connection to the car reduces a good signal) or is it that low signals from a faulty phone upset the car? Thanks

Are you connected via rSAP or by standard mode? I'm not sure if the Ace supports rSAP.

Same issue with my Galaxy Ace 2, it connects only as a BT headset. Samsung support explained that BT version 2.1 on their phone do not include Phone Book Access Protocol. I returned the phone and get a HTC HD that works flawless. Same good results with less fashionable Nokia ASHA 300 that last 5-6 days when HTC not more than 1.

I even tried with Nokia Lumia 710 and Win 7.5 do not provide any BT access to Bolero GSM II except headset audio. Only Win 7.8 will enable phone book access but the connection is performed manually using BT sharing software.
