Heko wind deflector clips

Featured Replies

I have installed them this morning and they look great just need time to settle in 24 hours if I remember right. My windows go up and down great so no issues there.

The only question I have are the metal clips. I hear that people don't fit them or that they rust.

So before I install them I would like some experienced opinions about the rust/ scratched window due to the clip!

I have found myself unsure whether to fit these clips

they don't rust,

they probably will scratch the glass a little

you do need them to properly secure the deflectors

when you remove them they may damage the window rubbers

I had a heko kit on my car when bought but removed it - much better without imo

How did you go about installing them as they much larger than the channel they fit into. Also do you think a lubricant would protect the glass?

And with where the glass is would you see the scratches?

They dont rust

They dont scratch windows

They wont damage anything on removal

Just get them fired in :)

i didn't install them

my experience is from removing them, which was done properly btw, the clips damage the rubbers over time and when you remove them you will see what they have done

personally I'd not have them on a car again as I found no practical benefits other than when parked you could leave windows open a small amount for ventilation

I smoke so they are a godsend!

Hate cars without them! Fag ash everywhere

plus cant you drive down the motorway at speed with the windows openish without loads of wind, also you can drive in the rain with windows open helping reduce fogging/steaming up inside the car?

i didn't find this - they were pretty useless in that respect, which is why they were removed

When you smoke you dont find them useless trust me!

The difference from having them to not is night and day!

I have them on my mk1 leon and my mate has a fabia vrs mk1 without them and thats when you notice the difference when fag ash is flying back in your face!

they look good which is more than enough to justify a set B) mine are fitted without clips and are stuck solid

That's a coincidence, I fitted mine earlier, they do look pretty smart

Mine have no clips and stay in place perfectly

I fitted mine without clips too, been on over a year with no problems at all. :)

got a set 2 months ago on ebay 20 quid fitted without the metal clips and they are just fine? how do they benifit smokers lol?

stop the wind blowing fag ash around the cabin, i assume thats window mostly up, just open a bit.

I didn,t use the clips on mine either. They are a tight fit in the channel and have the adhesive strips on.The clips supplied did look like steel ones though so i binned them.

Hi, i recently installed mine too this weekend, and was wondering how in the future you would remove them, i have installed the clips as i wanted them to be secure, how have people removed them when clipped?

Also i haven't tried it yet, but has anyone experienced any impracticality when cleaning the windows? Can you still get to the tops of them?

Thanks

You just use a knife or screwdriver to remove the clips and they come out as they went in.

You can clean the top of the window by winding it down ;)

I've never seen these.

HAs anyone got a pic of them fitted please?
