Anyone in the know about VW Caddys?

Evening All,

I might be getting hold of a 52 plate Caddy in the near future for pottering around in and would appreciate your input if you know more than me, which wouldn't be difficult.

At the moment I only have brief details of the vehicle, so here you are:

52 plate @160k miles

Seat Ibiza front end & wing mirrors

Darkside Developments shallow sump

Recent new calipers, discs and pads with service

Lowered on leaf springs at rear, coilovers at front

£600 worth of recently fitted alloys, tyres, spacers and bolts

Pioneer CD head unit

3 owners

Recaro front seats

No bulkhead

I believe it is the 1.9tdi engine, which from what I've read is 90bhp. At the moment the vanes are sticking but the owner says he will get it sorted prior to selling. I've no concerns there, as the van is very tidy and has clearly had time and effort spent on it and the guy seems very open and honest. Its an eleven year old vehicle; so there are a couple of very small dings and a little rust on one arch from what I saw, none of which bothers me.

Basically folks, I'd like your opinions as to what you think it'd be worth, what to look/listen for when I have a proper butchers at it and generally your experiences of them if you wouldn't mind sharing. Any info on insurance would be great too please (who you are insured with, how much it is etc), as from what I've read it will need to be van insurance rather than a normal car policy.

Any hints, tips and advice will be much appreciated.
