Nissan Navara

Featured Replies

My mate has just bought a 2003 Nissan Navara 2.5tdi with 92K and fsh.Its a nice truck except the HUGE 20" wheels thats on it.They have 295/40 x 20 Toyo tyres fitted all round.Looks great but the ride is terrible. You can feel every bump in the road and is a very hard ride.He thought he could take off road but i said not a chance with those wheels fitted. Its going to be a death trap in the winter too.

Any ideas what wheels he can fit to it to get back to "normal" and offroad use?

The previous owner spent £2K on the wheels/tyres and they are almost brand new with no kurbing etc. What sort of price do you reckon he could get for them?

Thanks in advance

Paul

You really need to ask what he can do?

Buy some 16 or 17 inch wheels of ebay and then sell the 20s.

With 92,000 miles on the clock it might well have had an engine rebuild already.

its not like every engine has failed or will,

but sometimes its good if you buy one where the problem has already been dealt with.

10 years history up to now for an owner or 3 to have things dealt with.

As to those that bother about vehicles that have not got the best safety record in a crash,

people have lived to old ages getting around in vehicles that had few safety features.

How many Briskoda members had serious crashes today, or this week or this year,

and how many were saved because the car had a fantastic safety rating?

In a crash between a Polo or a Navara, i would rather be in the Nissan.

Just don't crash it!

I'd imagine the standard size wheels would be pretty cheap on eBay etc. Would look better too.

thats the new model too, the old one could be worse!

Thanks for the replies guys.

Well i,ll tell him to look on eBay for standard wheels which come in 15" or 17" sizes.Trouble with him is that he knows nothing about cars which tbh owning this is a recipe for disaster. It looks nice but i wouldn,t have one personally. He better keep up them oil changes which sadly his Corsa cdti van never had :(

I,ll let you know when it blows :giggle:

My mate has just punted his for a new Touareg. Rusty bugger so it was for just 5yr. Rear wheel alignment kept getting shot to hell and eating tyres.

He never had engine trouble with it.
