Help - Fabia with high fuel consumption

Featured Replies

Hi there am new to this forum hope anyone can help. I've been at the Skoda dealer down the road and they seem they don't know their job. I've skoda fabia comfort year 2000 the ever since I bought the fuel consumption has been dreadful. I am spending at least ten quid per 50 miles and it's just a 1.4. I have been servicing almost every year changed fuel filter, plugs, air filter, oil filter, oil, all the normal servincing requirements but still the same I have even cleaned my fuel tank with the recommended dear advice but it's all the same please help.

Take it to another dealer dude, sounds like a problem within the engine and your burning way too much fuel.

ECU problem?

that is ludicrous. it should be more like

ECU prob? or does the 1.4 have a MAF.

Maybe a problem with the Lambda sensor in the exhaust.

It measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gasses & then sends a signal back to the ECU.

If the sensor is knackered, the ECU will just over fuel the engine.

ECU prob? or does the 1.4 have a MAF.

M

FYI, the 1.4 Fabia DOES NOT have an MAF sensor ....... :D
