Track Day At Keevil, Wilts

Featured Replies

Seems a pretty decent track, on an airfield so plenty of big run offs etc.

Also well priced at £99 for a session.

Quite Tempted, any interest in a Brisky trip there?

All open pitlane days

The first one would suit me fine.

Monday 22nd June.

Or any of the Saturdays, but I think the 14th is Castle Combe.

Fridays are a no-no, wages day.

We did Hullavington (Castle Combe-ish)

and Colerne (Bath)

The days were equally cheap and excellently organised but there's only so much that you can do with an airfield when it comes to making a race track

all 3 of the above include, as you would expect, a long straight downa runway, a hairpin, then a long straight back up again.

Not a massive problem sweeping corners aren't a speciality of tracks laid out on airfields

Similar pattern forming there, and interesting all 3 are in a similar area!

Would be good for a day out though I think, once the car has its overhaul this month it's time to start building up the track miles :)

Interested given I had to bail out of Combe on Monday!

14th Sept is the Summer Action Day so rule that one out right now! 12 October would be good as still lots of daylight and weather should be OK still. (Indian summer and all that)

Once everything in my life has settled down a bit and I get a second to scratch my arse I will get more involved in these track days so it wont be just the 3 of you :p

I'm interested too.

Colerne

I'd say that they have also revised the route of the days that they run at Hullavington as all the recent videos I can find are nothing like the track I remember doing in 2009 nor the map above!

And see how different the data logging trace is to the map above?!

All them cones! Richard likes cones (or the Yeti does anyway)

I like the idea of airfield track days, no big damaging curbs, plenty of bail out area if you push too hard and such.

However, what is it you Briskoda guys, everything you plan is sooo far south! :wall: I think if you go for October I should be ok for it.

How about Pembrey? Get of the welsh lads to play out too, calling Korban.......

If I'm allowed to do trackdays anymore James I'm up for Oulton or Cadwell.

I've got a Javelin gift voucher to use before the year is up and those two are top of my priority list.

How about leaving the semi part worn slicks at home and putting some nobbly's on, then have a go at this...

If not a fan of rally cross then just do the tarmac bits like this. (I forgot you lot are lowered)

I'd like to get to Oulton at some point this year.

Oulton is nearly £200 for open pit lane, if you wait until Feb 2014 it will be about £100, I went this February and I had an excellent day even though it rained all day!!!!

Thats why I said at some point (wait for it to get cheaper again lol).

I don't mind doing wet trackday's but I would rather it was on a track I know, than 1 i've never been too.

Oulton was good in the wet, we were shown the wet line on the ducks and drakes lap, go deeper and stay a cars width out from the apex, all good stuff.

However, Druids, is a killer corner, double apex, track is different type of tarmac in the corner and it makes it very sloppy, almost like my mother used the Mr Sheen on it before I went out!!!! A Megane RS went off as did a Mini on Druids, rest of the track does fill you with confidence.

I am in for Oulton Park, might even organise it for early in the new year.

Must be me, did the same thing in my Fabia the year before at How Fast 1. :)
