Hello to all,

been browsing posts a while and finally joined!

got tempted into skoda and succumbed when i drove an octavia 2.0 140 Tdi.

ended up buying that very car, as although i tried a few 1.9's they didnt seem to have the "punchy thrust" that that one did so i chose that.

Now...when i test drove it, the torque was phenominal, threw your head back in 1st, and literally pulled the car to the right in 2nd with the torque when i was a bit heavy footed, but there was power and acceleration in every gear with barely any pressure on the throttle........i loved it!

had to wait a few weeks to have it as there was an engine management light on, that turned out to be the egr valve. which the dealer took to skoda to get fixed.

I've had it about a month now and the torque seem to have vanished!.

i know ive got used to the car - done about 800 miles in it, so i dont heavy foot it, but although it will accelerate smoothly and go up steep hills easily, theres no rip your nuts off when i want a bit of fun and i find that im having to be heavier on the accelerator for less power and wait longer for the turbo.

Tried finding some answers but to no avail, so hoping someone can fill me in, as I dont know if its the egr, turbo, injectors ect??? and any help would be great as im at a loss.

its a 08 2.0 140 hdi hatch

done 114700 miles when i had it, and been fully and regularly seviced

At only 1 month in, I'd be taking it back to the dealer again, before you spend any money of your own.

Hi and welcome aboard.

I'd go back to the dealer to get it sorted.

Welcome to Briskoda from me too. :) I recommend that you repost (cut and paste) your request for help in the Octavia II forum.

thanks,

got a small warantee with the dealer but dont want to lose it for them to check something they wont have a clue on.

If they've sold you a broken car, you are entitled to either have it fixed properly or refunded. Do not worry yourself about anything they say about their warranty, especially so soon.
