Blown away!

Featured Replies

Hi Mickemo, welcome to Briskoda.

Glad you have a GREAT experience with your new yeti.

Maybe you can post a few photos to show us all.

I'm not sure what whispbars are, can you enlighten me please?

I have that trouble too

You wish !!!

We used a Kamei roofbox for our clothes which coupled with the ever so silent Whispbars looked cool too.

I have not tried them, but are the seats comfortable for naked travelling? :giggle:

CORNER now and no beer :giggle:

Never mind all these comedians. Let's talk camping! Ooh err missus!

This is uncanny.

Yeti. Check

Polycotton tent. Check

(Bear Lake 6)

Kamei roofbox. Check

(Delphin 380)

Glamping gear. Check

Need a test pitch with ours, before we run down to the Dordogne next month, but very encouraged by your report of the car's suitability for camping trips - exactly why we bought it. Check

"Campers do it under canvas".

Comedians, carry on....

And caravanners do it in comfort!!

I believe Whisbars are an aerodynamic alternative to the usual noisy square type, which whistle, are very noisy and cause vibration.

Curtains open or closed?

Curtains open or closed?

Wouldn't that depend on whether you were inside or outside?

"If the caravan's rocking, don't come knocking."

Or boat in your case.

If the boat's a bobbin', Bob's a jobbin'.

Now, I'm not feeling queasy, not at all, no.

I was going to type 'nobbin' but thought some people might mistakenly think I was being smutty.

BD, that cloak of innocence, not working mate :giggle:

Ssshhhh!!!

If the boat's a bobbin', Bob's a jobbin'.

Those old Boy Scout tendencies still alive and well then.

Do you hand out yellow stickers for their windows? ;)

Whereabouts in the Dordogne Michael? I can recommend an excellent campsite in Beynac village, right by the river, not far from Sarlat. Mid region about an hour and a bit E of Bergerac. Been there a couple of times "en famillie" (Careful Bob!). Would have made it 3 visits last summer, but was fully booked when we tried.

Oh, thanks Flintstone.

I believe this is Le Capeyrou?

All the similarities with the OP, and now this. Spooky

Yes, booked a "grand confort" pitch last year, based on feedback from other campers. About an hour east of Bergerac. Our youngest will join us for a week, Stansted to Bergerac.

Leisurely run down to Portsmouth for the evening sailing, then from St Malo we should be there by tea time (or vin rouge time, more likely).

Great to have another  for the site. It is a beautiful location. Roll on!

Hi Michael

We have a BL6 with side extension with Kamei Husky XL ( also have a Kamei Corvara for shorter trips where we can load up 3 bikes)

The Whispbars are just silent roof bars and they really are silent.

As I said just soo impressed with the Yeti....I'd love a top spec SM with full leather and panoramic roof, just about the perfect car.

Cheers all

Ps that campsite in France looks nice...might have to check that out one day

Yup! That's the one - bang on! Run by a super helpful French/Dutch couple. Fantastic to wake up each morning to that view! We found it through "Cool Camping" book. Really nice site.

One of the most interesting sections of the whole Dordogne IMO. 5 castles within 10km. This Castle was once the HQ for Richard I, right up to his death. Been used for a number of films including Joan of Arc. The footpath leading up from the road toward the castle was used in the opening sequence of the film "Chocolat", along with the riverside for several sequences (although the rest of the film was shot hundreds of Km away). If you're interested in the Knights Templars at all then a visit to Domme about 5k E is a must do. Worth it just for the views alone. Just out of sight to the left of that photo is a super restaurant "du Chateau" - where the tables are on one side of the main road and the bar/kitchen the other - so the waiter runs back and forth with orders across the road! Worth a visit just for the most welcome disregard for "Elf and Safety", n'est pas? Canoeing down the river back to the site - brilliant.

There's a fantastic plaque in old rusty iron on the castle ramparts, about not ****ing over the edge because it falls on the heads of the people walking along the road below! Could only be France!

Seriously thinking of taking Sergei the Yeti back there this year for his first trip with us. Either that or another place we discovered last year in the Cevennes, near Meyruis about an hour E of Millau. Between Causse Noir and Causse Mejan. Very handy for the Tarn gorge.

Wow Flintstone, you should write for Cool Camping! Printed off your tips to show Mrs G. She will love the "Chocolat" reference.

Will take a pic of that warning sign if it's still there. Merde!

Roofbox now delivered, got the car booked in for it's service, 5 weeks and go :sun:
