Interesting? Exciting?

A return maybe?

It should say

Never say Never.....

Say Trevor.

Has Great Wall motors bought the name...

Sharing the same platform as the MG6? hahaha

Take MG6 platform, stick a huge engine in it and drive the rear wheels, wait for pieces to fall off.

Sounds like the underpant gnomes:

Stage 1 Steal all the MG6 (or buy them all for £5).

Stage 2 ?????

Stage 3 Profit.

I hope they do return, perhaps a little more reliable than last time.

Did the MG6 really happen? I live 2 miles from an MG dealership but have never seen a real one

I would love TVR to come back, i had a TVR 450 and loved it.

Hasn't improved the sales though lol

Latest news is that the name and rights for TVR have been sold back to Britain, with a new company being setup.

Although i do hope TVR comes back, i do hope my partner does not buy another (rather likely but still) it was the most frightening experience of my life. I genuinely shut my eyes at one point..id much rather not see the tree i was about to hit

Well the home page has changed again! I have a mate with a Cerbera, lovely car, sounds fantastic but does spend huge amounts of time off the road. Even with all the issues they still have a certain something about them that nothing else can match.

Used to love the BTCC in the days of Radisich, Needell, Harvey, Biela and the like- some real top notch racing even when there was always one manufacturer that would walk it.

There's a TVR Sagaris that bimbles around town that really does sound like a thunder storm on wheels and looks fantastic in a dark metallic red. Not been in a TVR since my mate had his Chimera and would never spend my own money on one but would still love to see them return.

Still well worth a watch now!

Want this

There's a handful of Chimaeras and a Cerbera around my way - lovely engine notes.

There's only one word for that: Beautiful !

May take a drive to see the logbook, I'm intrigued on the famous owner.

I'll take the £30k down on another day though ;)

Would've thought that's only about 6 months' commission from dealing with BossFox?

Yeah looks smart but given the previous owner was famous and prob had some money why convert a Tuscan S to a Sagaris just for the fact that you could then take the roof off??

Surely you'd spend the cash improving the Tuscan S?

Am I missing something?

What can I say, he's a good customer :giggle:

Yep, some people have more money than sense.

It does look good though.

A further update - the website now reads:

THUNDEROUS NEWS

The distant rumble of rumour has turned to thunder and TVR is back in Britain

Mr Les Edgar, a businessman based in Dorking, Surrey, recently bought the rights to the TVR name, as well as the rights to manufacturer parts for existing cars, from the former owner, Nikolai Smolensky. Edgar wouldn’t reveal the price he paid for the deal, but did confirm that he will be “following up with more information, extremely soon.”

Edgar said he was under a strict non-disclosure agreement so couldn’t reveal the timeframe, only that it will be “as long as it takes to get this right.” He added: “There’s a lot of planning and forethought that’s gone into this. Watch this space.”

The imminent announcement adds fuel to speculation that an all-new TVR could be on the way, although Edgar was quick to play down a story posted on a rival website suggesting a new model with “totally new styling” that was “half the price of a Ferrari and probably as fast” is on the way.

Great news hopefully.

Always been tempted by a TVR, put off by reliability issues, potential for hedge finding and potential for big bills.

Wish them all the luck though and hopefully they will start building reliable engines, which it appears TVR Power have learnt how to do nowadays.
