What price did you get your Eibachs fitted for at the dealers?

Featured Replies

As title says, for supply and fit OEM Eibach lowering springs option ad Skoda dealership or elswhere. Mainly interested in prices charged by dealerships :).

Many thanks!

£320 was cheapest dealer quote I got but havent done it yet, insurance wont let me.grrrrr

Email a few local dealers n play em off against each other

insurance wont let me.grrrrr

By that do you mean they declined to insure if you did it? Or did it mean the policy would rocket to the point you couldn't afford it?

They wouldnt insure me if i did it "we dont allow mods even if Skoda does it" is what they said

Will look again when policy runs out (october)

Who's the insurer? I'd like to avoid them in future :D

My dealership sold me the springs, either £160 in an Eibachs box or £180 in a Skoda box....naturally I bought the cheapest.

Fitted together with a friend who is a mechanic.Backs are quite easy, fronts less so,nothing really beyond the scope of an experienced home mechanic with basic tools,I could have done the job alone but in my old and unfit state it would have been over 2 days at least with many tea breaks!!

As a commercial job I would say the correct time would be 2 hours rushed, but more realistically 3 hours...multiply that by whatever labour rate is used.

I was quoted 4 hours labour and the total cost was £436 all in.

So labour rate £100 per hour then?

I had this email reply few days ago after recently getting a fabia vrs mk2 and making an enquiry

Hi luke

With ref to your enquiry we can indeed supply and fit the lowering spring kit here for you

Total cost for parts, labour and vat would be £367.20 .

We do have to allow 7-10 working days for ordering the springs as they come direct from eibach

Dealer in aldershot

So labour rate £100 per hour then?

£172 for the springs, labour charged at £11.77 per 15 mins. This also included the wheel tracking afterwards and VAT.

Does the wheel alignment need doing after the spring fitment? If so i will ask my dealer to do it.

So far we have a spread between £320 and £436 - worth asking about :)

Any more guys and gals?

Also, could you please edit your posts to say where did you get those prices either quoted or fitted at please.

Thanks!

for me, about £1 a week? lol.. no idea, they just added it to my finance... asked my insurance company about dealer fit options, and they said, doesn't matter, anything is fine! lol....

Ha, you got me there!

Without me getting the car up on a ramp, how can I tell if I have Eibach rather than standard springs? I have a suspicious lack of body roll

If you can get a look at the springs themselves, they should have the Eibach logo printed on them.

£360 fitted at Skoda dealership (includes alignment)

Alignment was included in the fitting price on mine. I would ask though as it will need doing

Not looking like it's on stilts is the easy way. As mentioned they will have the Eibach logo visible and be a gloss black, not a matt black- you will have to have a proper look to actually see them unlike the stock springs which are easily visible.

I didn't even bother asking my local dealer, first because they didn't want to sell me a vRS in the first place and second because Jabba are the only people I would trust to do any modifications. Up to you of course, but I would highly recommend Jabbasport.

alignment was done on mine too as a matter of procedure, any garage that doesn't after lowering a car would be a bit amiss if you as me... (only problem was the garage did about 4 miles in my new car :( sure they thrashed it well! :p )
