?

If the front wheels arent losing traction then it might not turn?

Sent from my iPhone 4s

The prop is pretty simple.

Don't think it could be in position but not bolted upto rear pto without making lots of noise.

Easy enough to check its bolted on to gearbox though

If the cars on a ramp, you could drop the prop out the way and see if the rear pto is turning

Gear/transfer box sound OK ?

The propshaft will not turn unless the haldex is engaged.

If you raised the front of the car in the air, then this may not be enough. Also the haldex will remain disengaged if the handbrake is applied for obvious reasons.

Sorry dude

Prop is "pre-haldex"

Should turn permanently

^^ wha??

the propshaft should turn all the time the front wheels are turning, they are mechanically linked. so power is fed to the rear differetial all the time via the prop but the rear differential is only switched on when the haldex coupling is active

haha. edit; beaten to it...

Yeah as above should turn all the time the haldex is coupled at the rear so this is all pre haldex ;-)

I have a spare 4x4 box if needed

Hi guys I have no idea all I no prop or pto not turning at all, also getting a clunk at accelerating and braking like something is clicking out of place, I'm sure it's the transfer box gone

Could the replacement gearbox be knackered so its not sending any drive down the prop??

... I'm sure it's the transfer box gone

thing is it'd take quite a few hours trying to work whether its in gearbox where the power is split, or in the step down gears of the transfer box

Bet the cheapest/quickest solution is going to be to replace the entire gearbox

Yeah I'm sure it's the gearbox or transfer box, cntuning has offered me one so when I replace the whole gearbox It should be ok, thanks lads
