Check Brake Pads light come on.....

Featured Replies

On my L&K the other night, on my way back from dropping off the g/f. I knew they were on there way coz JBS advised so at my recent service, but been waiting to get the new parts to sort it, plus i wanted to upgrade at the same time, as som eof you will know.

Anyway what i need to know is, do i have to replace the pads with new ones with (wear indicators in them?) as i presume these are what i have now on my l&k.

Basically what i was going to be doing, before the light came on was this....

1 Upgrade front discs from 288mm to the VRS 312mm's

2 New Carriers needed (thx for the advice Eddy)

3 Upgrade the pads to the ones recommended on here

But now this has happened will i be upsetting the ECU settings if i put on brake pads without wear sensors

Also just to make sure before i order them(by the end of today please) will the 312mm discs definately fit under my 16's l&k alloys - dont really be wanting to be in a position at the weekend where we get em all setup n then the wheels dont go on

Hope you can Help guys,

Lee

If you fit pads without wear sensors simply tape up the ends of the wires that atatch from the car to the pad & it will be OK.

Cant help with the rest of your queries except to add that if you want the biggest brakes you can get into youre wheels talk to Ian Godney at Godspeed who can custom build brakes, hes squeezed 335x32's with Ap 6 pot callipers into Octy RS 17" wheels

also just outa interest, how much friction mat'l is likely to be left when the light shines on the dash ??? And have the pads ie front and rear got sensors or just the fronts ?

Thanks Stuart for the info about the wiring being taped up!
