Well that was easy.

currently driving an Octy 2.0 L&K estate DSG. put 96k on it in under 3 years and thought it would be good to change it before the next service/mot/brakes etc.

when I picked up my wifes Citigo on Saturday I was chatting with the sales guy who knew I wanted to change, and today we did a deal on an Octy on its way from the factory.

for my L&K I spec'd it to the hilt (minus sat nav) but on this one, even though I am losing heated seats and a sunroof (and maybe a couple of other bits) there is so much more on the new octy, and I didnt want to wait three months.

So, I hope to get my 1.6 DSG elegance in Race Blue in about 3 weeks.

sorry, hatch. have always preferred the look of an estate, but as the octy is now even bigger, cant see the point.

Factory BUILT model, so no extras.

I have been considering 1.6 DSG Elegence too and didnt see any need for any extras apart from spare wheel and tow bar and still can't decide on hatch or estate. Red is first choice colour though.

I take it you have no reservations about going from 2.0 to 1.6 ?

Did you get on PCP and what sort of monthly costs you got and GFV.

the 1.6 is a poweful enough engine, both on the motorway and A roads.

 

Believe it or not, if I would have test drove the 1.6 & the 2.0 litre (dont be mad, I actually did not test drive the car at all - I just knew it was going to be better than my MKII) I would have gone for the 2.0 without a shadow of a doubt.

 

Reading lots of posts, it seems the 2.0 is nearly as economical as the 1.6 and you definately will notice the lower power, BUT, as I have written on a number of occassions, I am absolutely happy with the power I get / need.

Getting about 53. Still better than my old 2.0 dsg, but expected atleast 5-10 more
