please help with correct dump valve(diverter) for octavia vrs?

Featured Replies

hi everyone iam hoping someone can point me in the right direction with regards to dump valves or diverter as they are properly known I believe. I have a 0ctavia vrs 2004 1.8 t. my friend removed my standard vag recirc valve and replaced with a bung then fitted a atmospheric one into the metal turbo pipe which sounds great and the car seems to go fine but every other day it throws the ecu light on which my friend just resets. so I guess it dousnt like it. what dump valve is recommended as a replacement for the standard vag. iam told it should be a recirc but I like the noise of the atmospheric valve and have seen many 1.8 t golfs etc using atmospheric without any probs. has anyone experienced this and knows the solution.?????

The vrs needs a recirc valve hence your engine light.

The golfs, some use a different and slighty older version of the engine which doesnt require a recirc. Certianly the case on my friends 98 A3.

You need to put a recirc valve back on asap really

If you like the noise, run a Forge 007p diverter valve along with an induction kit. You'll get plenty of noise and the engine will be happy.
