Karcher k2 pressure washer

Featured Replies

Hi all,

May get told I could have got a better deal here and regret this post! However just a heads up that I bought a Karcher K2 pressure washer today from Tesco, Redditch for £89 which included car accessories such as snow foam adapter and even a cleaning product (not sure on quality of this).

Can't find the link, and may not be as good a deal as I think! However thought it might be a deal worth sharing if anyone's looking for one?!

Now to wait for some more good weather to go and play with it!!

Regards,

Kirk

The foam lance is not to be confused with the likes of a dedicated snow foam lance, at best you'll get a water soap, which is okay if you just want to put shampoo on the car.

K2s can be had from Karcher Outlet from £39.99, though are refurbs, you'll be hard pushed to make out it isn't new other than they don't come in a Karcher retail box.

To be fair I did look at the returbished ones on that site, but at the time the cheapest I could find was 49.99 and when I then added delivery and the snow foam part that's with this one it came to just over £70 which although good, for peace of mind the extra was a no brainer.

That said I do think there are some bargain refurbs to be had!

All pretty well priced, I was surprised when I started looking at how reasonable they were!

I bought the K4 compact last bank holiday from B&Q and am pleased with it. At the time it was 20% off, so was about £190. I could have bought it slightly cheaper online (£170 from Cleanstore), but wanted to buy from a shop, so if there is a problem with it, it's easy to take it back.

The thing that did impress me was the patio cleaner thing. It made cleaning the drive/paths very easily with little mess.

I've not yet used it to clean my car, but I think I will this weekend. I also need to find and buy snow foam and a lance.

The karcher outlet website sell accessories so may be worth a look mate.

Typically ever since I bought this the weather has been miserable! It won't know what's hit it when the sun comes out as I'm pressure washing everything in sight!!

The Autobrite snow foam lance is the one you want. The Karcher foam lance will make thin watery foam. The Magifoam from Autobrite also is a great long dwelling foam with great cleaning action.

That looks like what I'm after, cheers mate

I too have heard the proper Karcher one isn't very good. I've been looking on Youtube and places and am wondering about the AutoBrite lance.

I am very tempted to join Detailing World and see If I can buy their long running Group-Buy from AutoBrite: http://www.detailing...ad.php?t=183611

I recently got bought this deal, bought over the phone and delivered very quickly. I went for the 5 lt magifoam and the small super snow foam just to try it, the magifoam is best imo.

The other day out of curiosity I added a small drop of xymol car shampoo to the mix with the magifoam, for experimental purposes and boredom.

Masses of foam, everywhere, at one point I was panicking that I might not get it all off... still walking through the foam remnants the following morning.

Neighbours have now confirmed I'm a loon.

Well finally managed to use this today and got to say for my needs it is fantastic. Time will tell on build quality but very happy.

Haven't got any proper snow foam yet, and as predicted the cleaning product that came with this isn't great however I didn't buy it for that so not worried about that.

Can anyone tell from my initial link if the adapter that came with this is the correct one to put snow foam in? I'm a newbie to cleaning (to this degree!)

To be honest with the Karcher foam bottle and with even a high foaming dedicated snow foam you'll just get a watery foam. As in the video below.

With the Autobrite (or similar) snow foam lance you'll get really good much thicker foam.

You can get other snow foam lances similar to Autobrite's on ebay.

But the Autobrite unit is the one I have and the guys and gals there are very helpful and aren't just after your money and then gone, they really are helpful.

Jim your more than welcome on DW. We're a friendly bunch and will be more than happy to help you spend your money on car cleaning stuff.

No question is too daft, okay some can be, but we won't redicule you (too much)

It's a whole other world that can be as simple or hard as you (or your wallet) want it to be.

Cheers Svend, your previous post about autobrite didn't go unnoticed by the way, just wondered if this karcher one would do the job temporarily.

Makes sense now, I think I will take the plunge as you suggest and buy a better snow foam lance.

Also going to join detailing world as feel I'm getting a bit obsessive with this cleaning malarkey!

Cheers,

Kirk

No worries Kirk.

If you join first you can then take advantage of the DW group buy on the lance and the foam.

May as well start saving some money now, it's going to get expensive with clay, tar removers, iron fallout removers, shampoos, wash mitts, towels, buckets, wheel brushes, interior brushes, degreasers, interior cleaners, glass polishes, glass cleaners, then there's the whole wax or sealant or both.

Welcome to the dark side of keeping things clean.

The Karcher unit you have is good for putting shampoo on the car so don't throw it away by any means. I use the snow foam lance to apply shampoo to the car and then single bucket and wash mitt the car rather than shampoo bucket-car-rinse bucket and so on. I just wipe, rinse bucket and wipe, etc...

Just when my wife thought Briskoda had taken over my life... Perhaps I won't tell her I'm joining a new forum!

It's best not to tell the other half everything.

You need to find a hiding place for all the stuff though. Oh and the best answer should you ever get caught, ie too many parcels arriving, is "it's a group buy, so had to get it now or I'd of missed the (add percentage here) reduction in price". When they ask what that is, you say "well, because so many people are buying it at the same time it reduces the costs at the supplier and they pass on the loyalty discount, but they don't happen often, so had to get it now". Works almost everytime, the other times they just roll there eyes.
