Best Sort and milage tyres for a Octavia 1 VRS

Featured Replies

Hi All

Im about to purchase some new rubber for the front of my 2004 octavia VRS and was wondering on peoples opinion for a good set of sport (ish) tyres which are also good all year round and high mileage. I was thinking of maybe some dunlop sport max rt or goodyear falcon f1. also looked at pilot sports 1 but it already has an odd one on the front and it doesn't seem to last long. I don't drive the car hard to often, more motor way miles.

The tyre size currently on the car is 225/45/17 91Y. The proper size should be 205/50/17. this shouldn't make a difference should it? it makes a difference to the price. 225's are cheaper. probably because they are more common. There are also 225's on the back.

Cheers,

Ant

Theres some deals to be had at moment on goodyear f1's in 225/45/17,

Don't touch the dunlops i have them on my wheels at moment and there rubbish,

I have 205's on my winter wheels and 225's on my pro race wheels and don't really notice any fuel economy changes between the two
